HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Lebanon County man was convicted this week of all charges for abuse of two children that happened over a period of years, between 2019 and 2024.
Fernando H. Silva, 35, was found guilty Thursday of felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child, indecent assault, and corruption of minors, and misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure.
According to testimony during the three-day trial, Silva beat and groped the children who were pre-teenagers during most of the conduct. Silva was an acquaintance of the children which allowed him to have regular access to them.
“For years, this defendant repeatedly abused these children who ultimately had the strength to tell their stories, then bravely take the stand in court this week,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I commend the jurors for weighing the facts and returning a just verdict, and also the investigators and prosecutor for pursuing this case to a conviction.”
Silva will be sentenced on Dec. 16.
According to testimony, Silva beat the children with his hands, belts, and other household objects. One of the children first disclosed the abuse in 2024.
Lebanon County Detectives filed charges.
The case is being prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Amy Muller.
