HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Blair County jury has convicted a California man of felony sexual assault for unlawful communication and contact with a 14-year-old girl.
On Thursday, the jury found 43-year-old Don Robison guilty of three counts of unlawful contact with a minor, two counts of indecent assault of a child, corruption of minors, and criminal use of a communication facility.
He will be sentenced on May 11.
According to the investigation, Robison posed online as a 13-year-old child to befriend the child victim. Robison ultimately gained the child’s trust and traveled to her home in Altoona and then sexually assaulted her.
“This predator deceived and manipulated the victim, traveling across the country to carry out unspeakable crimes,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I am appalled by this behavior, and I hope this verdict sends a message that crimes against children in Pennsylvania will not be tolerated.”
Robison was already a registered sex offender in his home state when he targeted the Pennsylvania child. After traveling to the house in Altoona, Robison convinced the child to turn off the home’s security systems, so he could get inside.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Kimberly Moraski and Deputy Attorney General Jacob Jividen.
