HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a man and woman are charged with trafficking cocaine and marijuana, following a recent traffic stop in Blair County.
Several law enforcement partners assisted the Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation in apprehending the defendants and searching for and seizing 4.5 ounces of cocaine and two pounds of marijuana.
Damien Hunter, 48, of Huntingdon, is charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver (cocaine, marijuana), conspiracy, flight to avoid apprehension, evading arrest on foot, resisting arrest, and related offenses. His bail is set at $250,000.
Whitney Ramsey, 33, of Mount Union, is charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver (cocaine, marijuana), one count of criminal conspiracy PWID, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and summary traffic offenses. Her bail was set at $200,000 unsecured.
“This was a great collaboration between law enforcement that removed illegal drugs that threatened our communities and resulted in the apprehension of two alleged traffickers,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I’m grateful for the diligent work of our law enforcement partners in this case. That work will continue to make our communities safer from those who seek to peddle these poisons.”
Hunter tried to flee during the December 31 traffic stop on Route 22 in Allegheny Township, and was captured a short distance away. Police found the cocaine on his person.
The two pounds of marijuana were found in the vehicle.
The Office of Attorney General was assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police, Blair County Drug Task Force, Tyrone Borough Police Department, Allegheny Township Police Department, and Altoona Police Department.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled for January 8.
This case is being prosecuted by the Blair County District Attorney’s Office. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
