HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Northampton County man will serve up to 20 years in prison for having numerous child sexual abuse material files, including files depicting very young children.
Carlton R. Blaukowitch, 67, previously pleaded guilty to numerous felonies and was sentenced Wednesday in Northampton County Court to 10 to 20 years in prison.
The Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section filed charges after responding to a cybertip regarding Blaukowitch possessing CSAM. Agents found on Blaukowitch’s computer at least 50 CSAM images and videos.
“This case involves possession of extremely graphic and horrific files — content that should not exist in a civilized society, and we are pleased the court recognized the depravity of the conduct,” Attorney General Sunday said. “Possessing and sharing CSAM is far from a victimless crime, and this conviction and significant state prison sentence makes that very clear.”
Blaukowitch is also required to register as a sex offender for 15 years upon his release from prison.
Office of Attorney General agents, assisted by Nazareth Police Department, executed a search warrant last year at Blaukowitch’s home on East High Street and found the illegal materials. Some of the files depicted toddlers and other prepubescent children.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Mary Phillips.
