HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Luzerne County woman and her mother have pleaded guilty in connection to the repeated abuse of an 11-year-old child — abuse involving beatings, restraint of the child, and denial of access to a restroom.

Amanda Gregorio, the child’s mother, and Stacey Louder, the child’s grandmother, pleaded guilty to various charges Thursday in Luzerne County Court.

Gregorio pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, and conspiracy to commit endangering the welfare of a child.

Louder pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, and conspiracy to commit endangering the welfare of a child.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 15.

“It is hard to fathom a mother and grandmother treating a precious child in such a cold and cruel manner,” Attorney General Sunday said. “The evidence in this case shows these women repeatedly abused and neglected this child of basic care needs, and that is what they admitted to in court today.”

The abuse was discovered in August of 2024 when EMS was called to a home for a seizure involving a child. Medical professionals discovered bruising all over the child’s body, and other signs of abuse. The child also was malnourished.

The cases are being prosecuted by Deputy Attorney Generals Rachael Coleman and Mary Phillips.
