HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Luzerne County man will serve up to 15 years in prison for possessing and uploading child sexual abuse material.
The Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section received a cyber tip about uploads of CSAM, and traced an IP address to Donald George Long’s home, where he lived alone. Agents determined Long was using his deceased mother’s internet to access CSAM files, many of them depicting pre-teenage children.
Long, 68, previously pleaded guilty to 100 felony counts of sexual abuse of children and was sentenced this week to 4 to 15 years in prison. He must register as a sex offender for 15 years, upon release.
“This offender used his deceased mother’s internet service as a means to compile vile images and videos of very young children being abused,” Attorney General Sunday said. “This significant prison sentence sends a message that anyone who abuses and exploits children in Pennsylvania will be caught, and they will be punished.”
Agents served a search warrant last year at Long’s Plymouth home and seized electronics. Long admitted to viewing and saving the materials.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Kimberly Moraski.
