HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges against a Pottstown man regarding possession and dissemination of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Timothy Paul Hoffman, 59, is charged with 82 felonies, including 80 counts of sexual abuse of children. At arraignment, a magisterial district judge deemed Hoffman a “danger to the community” and denied bail.

Office of Attorney General agents responded to a tip in August and traced numerous CSAM files, and sharing activity, to Hoffman.

”Possession of these heinous photos and videos is abhorrent criminal conduct, and sharing the content takes that level of depravity a step farther,” Attorney General Sunday said. “Our Child Predator Section will not stop working with partners to identify people who are abusing and exploiting children in the Commonwealth.”

Agents last month served a search warrant at Hoffman’s apartment on East High Street, and seized multiple devices containing CSAM.

The case will be prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Mary Phillips. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
