HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that an Indiana County man is charged with disseminating and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), following a proactive investigation by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.
Yao Wang, 43, is charged with felony counts of disseminating and possessing CSAM and unlawful use of a communications facility. He was recently arraigned and bail was set at $50,000 unsecured. He was required to surrender his passport and is prohibited from contact with minors and use of the internet.
“Those who distribute these vile materials are repeatedly abusing and exploiting children and will be held fully accountable,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I commend my team for a proactive investigation that led to this defendant as the source of the illegal sharing.”
Earlier this year, agents discovered CSAM file-sharing originating from a home in Indiana (Pa.). While executing a search warrant on South 11th Street, agents traced the sharing to Wang, who also possessed at least 20 files of CSAM on his computer.
The case will be prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Alison Bragle of the Child Predator Section. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
