Chief Deputy Attorney General – Health Care Section - Public Protection Division: Harrisburg (00264281)

The Chief Deputy Attorney General of the Health Care Section is a highly advanced professional, legal, and administrative position as a Section Chief in the PA Office of Attorney General.  An employee in this class serves as Chief of a section that handles several thousand consumer complaints per year relative to consumers’ access to health care or health insurance.   This position requires a candidate with strong supervisory and litigation skills.  The candidate should have litigation experience in federal and state courts and be familiar with the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices Act, the Federal Affordable Health Care Act, and Medicaid/Medicare rules and must have the ability to assemble and work with litigation teams both within the office and with other Offices of Attorney General.  This position supervises a section with approximately 12 staff members including attorneys, investigators, and support staff.  The Chief of Health Care reports to the Executive Deputy Attorney General of the Public Protection Division.

Executive Deputy Attorney General - Civil Law Division: Statewide (00001455)

The Executive Deputy Attorney General (EDAG) for the Civil Law Division oversees more than 100 employees and reports directly to the First Deputy Attorney General. The EDAG is responsible for providing strategic leadership of the Civil Law Division including managing resources and motivating and evaluating staff.  Additionally, the EDAG will work with the executive staff, including the Attorney General, First Deputy, and Chief of Staff to establish and implement short and long-term goals applicable to the Civil Law Division and ensure those objectives are met.  Where appropriate and desired, the EDAG may have direct involvement in the substance of ongoing litigation and other matters.

Deputy Attorney General III/IV – Medicaid Fraud Control Section - Criminal Law Division: Lemoyne (00182032)

This Deputy Attorney General position is an advanced prosecutor position in the Office of Attorney General’s Criminal Law Division.  The Medicaid Fraud Control Section is responsible for investigating and prosecuting individuals, facilities, and entities that provide goods and services reimbursed by Pennsylvania’s Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program and that have committed fraud.  Examples of such providers include nursing homes, hospitals, medical supply vendors, medical professionals (physicians, dentists, pharmacists), behavioral health workers, and attendant care workers.  The Section also focuses its efforts on fighting the opioid epidemic by investigating and prosecuting physicians who criminally prescribe controlled substances in amounts that are well above recognized medical treatment standards.  In addition, this Section investigates and prosecutes Neglect of Care-Dependent Person and Abuse of Care-Dependent Person violations.
