HARRISBURG — Attorney General Sunday announced that a Perry County jury has convicted a man of physically and sexually abusing four children over several decades.
Andrew Allamon, 55, of Newport, was found guilty Friday by a Perry County jury of several counts of rape, unlawful contact with minor, and sexual assault, indecent assault of child, and endangering the welfare of a child after a four-day trial. The sentencing is scheduled for January 29.
He was previously convicted separately for a fifth victim of unlawful touching and attempted indecent assault, and was sentenced in April to four to eight years in prison.
“For years, the defendant used his relationships with the victims to carry out evil, disgusting acts. This type of cruel behavior has no place in our society and I’m thankful his victims could come forward and seek justice,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I’m grateful for the hard work of our prosecutors, investigators, and the jury who helped secure this conviction.”
According to evidence presented by the Office of Attorney General, Allamon used a pocket knife during sex acts and in other apparent acts of cruelty. If they did not comply with these acts he would beat them, or force them to do cruel punishments. In some cases, he locked the victims in dog kennels and forced them to eat out of dog bowls.
This case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Lauren Eichelberger and Senior Deputy Attorney General Julie Danchak.
