HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Philadelphia-based repeat sex offender has been sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl — while he was out on bail for child sexual abuse material charges.
Craig Coleman, 33, pleaded guilty Monday to trafficking in individuals, unlawful contact with a minor, statutory sexual assault, manufacturing child pornography, and related offenses. A Philadelphia County Judge ordered the sentence.
The judge also deemed Coleman a “sexually violent predator” who must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
“This defendant is a proven danger to children in the community based on his refusal time and time again to obey the law,” Attorney General Sunday said. “This resolution and sentence ensure it will be many years until he has an opportunity to live in a free society.”
The Office of Attorney General charged Coleman in 2023 with possessing child sexual abuse material. He posted bail in November 2024 and committed the latest crimes, contacting the victim online before sexually abusing her. Coleman then tried to prevent the victim from cooperating with police.
Coleman has a previous conviction in 2015 for the sexual assault of a minor and manufacturing child sexual abuse material.
The latest case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella of the Child Predator Section.
