HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges against a Philadelphia man — a repeat offender — for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, and for secretly filming a woman.

Jason Sheasley, 40, was recently arraigned on nine felonies, and three misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy. His bail was set at $500,000.

The Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section opened an investigation in January, and determined Sheasley was sharing online dozens of child sexual abuse material videos.

Agents also found evidence that Sheasley had video-recorded a woman in states of undress and without her consent.

“Our agents proactively intervened to stop this registered sex offender from harming any more children by possessing and repeatedly sharing videos online,” Attorney General Sunday said. “Protecting children is of the highest priority, and these types of investigations will continue to span the Commonwealth.”

Sheasley has a prior conviction in New Jersey from 2016.

Last week, agents served a search warrant at Sheasley’s Hartel Avenue home and found the material on electronic devices.

The case will be prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
