HARRISBURG – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced charges against the former director of Delaware County Emergency Services regarding an indecent assault of an employee earlier this year at the county’s communications center.
Timothy A. Boyce, 60, was charged Thursday with three misdemeanor offenses — indecent assault, simple assault, and harassment — regarding an incident that happened on Jan. 30.
According to the charges, Boyce allegedly summoned the employee to his office and kissed her, and when the employee pulled away and started to leave the office, Boyce then grabbed her buttocks and made a lewd comment.
Boyce was arraigned and bail was set at $50,000 unsecured.
“This type of conduct is a threat to the workplace, where people are supposed to feel safe, and my office views these allegations seriously,” Attorney General Henry said. “Title, power, or status do not give anyone the right to harass and assault employees.”
Following the incident, the employee left and did not return to work. The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office referred the case to the Office of Attorney General.
Boyce will be prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General’s Criminal Prosecution Section. All charges are accusations. The defendant is innocent unless and until proven guilty.
