HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges against a Delaware County man who possessed dozens of child sexual abuse material files, along with numerous other photographs of underdressed teenage girls.

Chad Lauletta, 50, is also charged with having a video of a woman engaged in a sexual act — which Lauletta recorded without the woman’s permission.

The Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section charged Lauletta with 56 felonies and misdemeanor invasion of privacy. He was arraigned and bail was set at $1 million cash.

“This investigation uncovered the defendant had compiled numerous illegal, lewd, or indecent images of children, as well as a video he had recorded and kept without the adult victim’s permission,” Attorney General Sunday said. “This deviant behavior cannot and will not be tolerated, as reflected by the very serious charges filed in the case.”

The investigation began when the adult reported to police that he found concerning files on Lauletta’s phone. (Lauletta was a former paramour.)

Law enforcement later questioned Lauletta and searched his home on Taylor Road in Springfield, assisted by Springfield Township police. Agents found child sexual abuse material along with photos of girls, appearing to be in their early teens, in revealing dress. It was determined that Lauletta “screenshotted” many of the photos from social media, and in at least one instance, took a photo himself.

The case will be prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
