HARRISBURG — Attorney General Michelle Henry issued the following statement on the passing of Union County District Attorney D. Peter Johnson:
“I am deeply saddened by the news of Pete Johnson’s sudden passing this week, and offer my condolences to his loved ones who will miss him dearly.
“During an impeccable 28 years as district attorney, Pete was a zealous advocate for victims and compassionate leader who always aimed to do what was right.
“Most recently, I, along with my colleagues in the Office of Attorney General, had the honor of working with Pete on a years-long investigation and prosecution that resulted in a first-degree murder conviction earlier this year.
“Pete’s mission to help people extended beyond his own backyard, as he served for years on statewide attorneys associations, offering his time and expertise to resolve issues impacting all Pennsylvanians and their families.”
