HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced seizures of more than 400 illegal gambling devices from dozens of western Pennsylvania establishments, along with the filing of charges against two companies operating the machines.
The Office of Attorney General filed felony corrupt organizations charges against Buffalo Skills Games, Inc. and J.J. Amusement, Inc. The companies are owned and operated by John F. Conley, who has prior federal convictions for illegal gambling.
The Pennsylvania State Police assisted Office of Attorney General Gaming Enforcement agents in a series of seizures in March 2024 at bars, gas stations, and convenience stores in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Crawford, Indiana, Somerset, Venango, Erie, Washington, Armstrong, and Westmoreland counties.
”These devices were essentially slot machines dressed up as skill games,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I commend our partners at the Pennsylvania State Police for helping disband a large-scale operation that netted a tremendous amount of illegal gambling profits.”
This case is being prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General’s Gaming Enforcement Section. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
