HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday — along with Somerset County District Attorney Molly Metzgar and other law enforcement partners — announced charges filed this week against 14 drug traffickers, and seizures of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and illegal firearms, as part of a months-long investigation focused on Somerset and Cambria counties.
Attorney General Sunday’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation teamed with the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, and other partners in an investigation that resulted in arrests this week of 13 charged traffickers. Another individual is charged, but not yet in custody.
The individuals were identified as traffickers during an ongoing investigation this year, primarily in Somerset County.
In all, during 2025, the Office of Attorney General has collaborated to make more than 20 arrests, and seize handguns and quantities of various narcotics in Somerset County.
”Every community has unique circumstances, but there is a common thread law enforcement finds throughout the Commonwealth — drug dealers value dollars over human lives, and carry firearms to protect their lucrative trades,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I commend District Attorney Metzgar and the other partners who are focused on removing fentanyl and other poisons from neighborhoods and holding accountable predatory dealers.”
Somerset County District Attorney Molly Metzgar said: “I appreciate being able to work with Attorney General Dave Sunday and his Office, and am thankful for all of the support and resources that he has provided to our county to ensure that this major round-up could be accomplished. Special commendations to Agent Thimons for his tireless dedication to Somerset County in organizing these investigations.”
The majority of the investigation — including surveillance, controlled buys, and search warrants — happened in Somerset County. Two significant seizures happened in Cambria County, with assistance from the Cambria County Drug Task Force and municipal police.
In all, law enforcement seized more than 20,000 doses of fentanyl in connection with investigations this year, along with quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycodone, Vicodin, and marijuana.
Charged this week with drug-trafficking offenses are: Charles Pierce, Meredith Blake, Charlene Morris, Dyane Hickman-Mason, Amber Troutman, Jeremy Barron, Amanda Barclay, David McCormick, Charles Meinhart Jr., Adam Scarlett, Tabatha Hornbaker, Pamela Harold, Courtney Romesburg, and Shari Saler.
All but Mason (who previously lived in Ohio) were taken into custody and are in the process of arraignment.
Berlin Borough Police Department, Boswell Borough Police Department, Somerset Borough Police Department, Conemaugh Township Police Department, Rockwood Borough Police Department, Summit Township Police Department, Richland Township Police Department, Windber Borough Police Department, and Somerset County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
