Harrisburg — Ahead of Primary Election Day in Pennsylvania, Attorney General Josh Shapiro is providing resources for Pennsylvania voters about their voting rights and where to turn if they experience problems at the polls.
On Tuesday, May 21st, Pennsylvanians will head to the polls to cast their votes in the primary election for municipal offices and several special elections. The Office of Attorney General has voters’ rights guides available in both English and Spanish that provide information about what to expect at the polls and how to report problems. The voters’ rights guides can be viewed and downloaded at www.attorneygeneral.gov/voting.
“Pennsylvanians have a right to cast their votes in every election without any pressure or intimidation, and my Office is committed to protecting that right,” said Attorney General Shapiro. “Every vote counts in our democracy. If you see something inappropriate or feel your right to vote is being undermined in any way, you should contact my office, your County Election Board, or the Pennsylvania Department of State for assistance. My Office will be watching on Election Day, and we will have no tolerance for anyone who elects to interfere with the voting process.”
If you have any problems at the polls, please call your County Boards of Elections or the Pennsylvania Department of State. You can find contact information for local County Board of Elections in the Attorney General’s voters’ rights guides or at votespa.com. The Pennsylvania Department of State can be reached at 877-868-3772. If you witness what you believe to be election-related crimes, please contact the Office of Attorney General at voting@attorneygeneral.gov.
