HARRISBURG—Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced the arrest of an Allentown woman who allegedly used her intellectually disabled 13-year-old stepdaughter to produce child pornography.
The Office of Attorney General said Zoraida Flores was arrested Thursday evening and charged with Manufacturing Child Pornography, Possession of Child Pornography, Indecent Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Corruption of Minors, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Possession of Child Pornography, Dissemination of Child Pornography, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility.
“These charges are heartbreaking. This defendant is charged with sexually abusing her stepdaughter, a 13-year-old with intellectual disabilities,” said Attorney General Shapiro. “This defendant is charged with exploiting her stepdaughter in the most horrific way, and my office will continue to prosecute sexual abuse of children to the fullest extent of the law.”
Office of Attorney General investigators say they received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Flores appeared to be sharing child pornography via Facebook. After OAG agents executed a search warrant and went to Flores’ Woodlawn Street apartment, they seized her cell phone.
The FBI’s forensic search of Flores’ phone revealed numerous images of child pornography, including minor female children engaged in prohibited sexual acts with adults, and nude images of the 13-year old stepdaughter.
Flores’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30.
This case is being prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella of the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section. All charges discussed are accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
