HARRISBURG — Attorney General Sunday announced that a Luzerne County jury has convicted a man for assaulting a dancer in a gentlemen’s club in May 2022.
Miguel Antonio Nunez, 40, of Shenandoah, was found guilty Wednesday afternoon by a Luzerne County jury of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault after a three-day trial.
The sentencing is scheduled for April 2. Nunez’s bail was revoked and he was remanded to prison.
“The facts in this case show that the defendant did not have the victim’s consent to do what he did — that is assault, regardless of the setting,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I applaud the victim for having the courage to come forward and face her attacker and ensure he is held accountable for what he did to her.”
According to testimony, Nunez was a patron of the club when he bought private dances with the victim. During the dances, Nunez assaulted the woman while she repeatedly told him no.
The woman underwent an examination that confirmed the assault, and led to identification of Nunez as the attacker.
This case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Rachael Coleman.
