Blair County Man Illegally Photographed, Videotaped, and Molested Minors

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced that a Blair County man who illegally photographed, videotaped and molested minors was sentenced to 5 to 10 years in prison for felony charges related to child pornography after explicit images of minors were found on his phone.

Bradley Beck, 21, of North 5th Avenue, Altoona, pled guilty to possession of child pornography, production of child pornography and indecent assault on October 5, 2018. On February 28, 2017, agents from the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit received a Cypertip from Skype.

An investigation revealed the address associated with the cell phone connection of the Skype user came back to the defendant. Beck admitted to agents he had uploaded the child pornography photo to Skype. Nude photos of an 8-year-old child and his younger brother that Beck knew and watched were found on the defendant’s phone. Beck had been entrusted to pick the children up from school and be with them until their parents returned home. Also found on the phone was a video of Beck fondling the child’s genitalia.

“This is an egregious case – parents entrusted this defendant to care for their young sons. We are pleased with the results from today’s sentencing, which will take a predator off the streets,” Attorney General Shapiro said. “My Office will investigate and prosecute anyone we uncover who sexually abuses children to the fullest extent of the law.”

Beck was sentenced by Blair County Judge Elizabeth Doyle. The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Christopher Jones.
