HARRISBURG— Centre County District Attorney Bernard Cantorna requested that the Office of Attorney General Josh Shapiro take over the case involving the death of Timothy Piazza at a Pennsylvania State University fraternity in 2017.
This request was based on a conflict Cantorna has regarding the case. The Office of Attorney General Shapiro reviewed the basis for the conflict and pursuant to the Commonwealth Attorneys Act has accepted the matter.
The Office of Attorney General Shapiro will now conduct an independent review of the case.
