HARRISBURG —  Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges against an Elk County man for distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Jason T. Orner, 45, of Saint Marys, was recently arrested and arraigned on numerous felony charges, following an investigation by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section. Bail was set at $175,000.

Investigators determined Orner was sharing the illegal videos from his home on Chestnut Street, where officials executed a search warrant.

“The proactive work of our Child Predator Section uncovered this defendant’s efforts to network online videos of children being exploited and abused,” Attorney General Sunday said. “Stopping the distribution of these materials is a priority for my office as we seek to protect children from exploitation and abuse. We will never yield in our efforts to bring these offenders out of the shadows in order to hold them accountable.”

Agents from the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and Saint Marys police officers executed a search warrant recently at Orner’s home and seized a laptop computer and other devices.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 25.

This case is being prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Angela Raver of the Child Predator Section. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
