HARRISBURG – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that a 67-year-old Clearfield County man has been sentenced to 15 to 40 years in prison for possession of child pornography.
Raymond Mikelonis, of Penfield, pleaded guilty to felony counts of possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility.
The sentencing judge on Wednesday deemed Mikelonis a sexually violent predator. As part of sentence, Mikelonis will have to register as a sex offender for life.
The recent case is Mikelonis’ third conviction for sexual abuse charges he was previously convicted of child sexual assault and possession of child pornography.
This defendant has shown he is not amenable to treatment or reform, and continues to abuse children, making him a danger to society, Attorney General Henry said. These videos and images perpetuate the abuse and corruption of minors, and my office will do everything in our power to protect children and hold abusers accountable.
An investigation by the Office of Attorney General found that child pornography files were being downloaded from a computer with Mikelonis’ IP address. Investigators executed a search warrant at Mikelonis’ home, and found files containing child pornography on his computer.
Anyone who has information about child predators is urged to contact the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section at 1-800-385-1044. Concerned citizens can also report child abuse to the Pennsylvania ChildLine by calling 1-800-932-0313.
This case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Angela Raver.
