Ring Operated in Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties
HARRISBURG — Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced that seven of the 10 drug dealers charged in May 2017 with the manufacturer and distribution of methamphetamine in Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties were sentenced today by Judge Michael Huddock.
Following the recommendation of a statewide investigating grand jury and an investigation conducted by the Office of Attorney General’s East Drug Task Force, local authorities in Snyder County and other law enforcement agencies, ringleader Charles “Chip” Hanson and his co-conspirators were arrested last year for distributing meth and teaching others how to produce it.
“This investigation involved drug dealers who produced highly-volatile drugs at a motel and at least one residence where a child was living,” Attorney General Shapiro said. “These dealers put an innocent child and others in harm’s way. Our work with District Attorney Piecuch and other law enforcement agencies led to the dismantling of a major methamphetamine ring. We will remain merciless with the dealers peddling these poisons in our communities.”
The defendants were sentenced as follows:
- Charles Hanson, 7 – 19 years incarceration
- Savannah Goodling, 4 – 8 years incarceration
- Josiah Hayes, 11 ½ – 23 months incarceration and 2 years of probation
- Brianna Hendricks, 11 ½ – 23 months incarceration and 2 years of probation
- Nicholas Keister, 4 – 13 years incarceration
- Thomas Wood, 21 – 42 months incarceration
- Jessica Keister, 3 – 10 years incarceration
The cases were prosecuted Senior Deputy Attorney General David Gorman. The other defendants in the ring were previously sentenced.
