HARRISBURG – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced that Antoinette Hodge, a former City of Uniontown Treasurer, has been sentenced to 21 to 120 months in prison for stealing approximately $106,000 in taxpayer funds.
Hodge was convicted last month by a Fayette County jury of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, and other offenses.
As part of the sentence, Hodge is required to pay $106,750 in restitution to the City of Uniontown, plus the city’s costs to perform an audit.
The charges stem from the 48th Investigating Grand Jury and were prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General.
“The defendant has now been held accountable for dishonoring her position of public trust by deceiving taxpayers and stealing funds meant for the city of Uniontown,” Attorney General Henry said. “Our investigation showed that she, on many days, spent hundreds of dollars of taxpayers’ money on lottery games.”
Hodge was elected as the City of Uniontown Treasurer in 2019. Her main responsibility was to collect and deposit all cash and checks received by the tax office.
Testimony during the trial revealed that Hodge failed to deposit more than $106,000 in cash collected by the Treasurer’s Office between 2020 and 2021.
This case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Kara Rice.
