CASE UPDATE: Blair County Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Abuse of Children

October 5, 2018 | Topic: Criminal

HARRISBURG – Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced that a Blair County man pleaded guilty to felony charges for creating and possessing child pornography.

Bradley Beck, 20, of North 5th Avenue, Altoona, pled guilty to charges of sexual abuse of children, indecent assault and related offenses before Judge Elizabeth Doyle. Beck was arrested in March 2018 by Office of Attorney General agents.

“Every parent’s worst nightmare is to have someone like this defendant living next door, taking indecent pictures of their children without their knowledge,” Attorney General Josh Shapiro said. “We will hold this predator accountable for his crimes, as well as anyone else we find who produces child pornography.”

Following the execution of a search warrant at Beck’s residence, investigators discovered at least 16 images or video files of child pornography that Beck produced on his cell phone. The files depicted two victims under the age of 13 with whom Beck had contact. Investigators found a pair of underwear belonging to one of the victims in Beck’s bedroom. The two victims both lived in the neighborhood where Beck lived.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Christopher J. Jones.
