Attorney General Michelle Henry Issues Guidance on Abortion Access in Pennsylvania in Advance of Dobbs Decision Anniversary

June 23, 2023 | Topic: Rights

HARRISBURG—Attorney General Michelle Henry and the Office of Attorney General have issued the following resource regarding abortion access in Pennsylvania in advance of the one-year anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision by the Supreme Court of the United States to inform Pennsylvanians about the status of their healthcare rights.

“I understand that without national uniformity on the legal status of abortion, there may be confusion regarding accessibility in Pennsylvania, so my Office has once again put together an information sheet to clarify the current status and availability of abortion services and providers in the Commonwealth,” said Attorney General Henry. “While the Dobbs decision still stands and there is no longer federal protection for access to abortion, both medical and procedural abortion remains legal in the state of Pennsylvania.”

Attorney General Henry encourages anyone with additional questions or concerns about abortion access in Pennsylvania to consider contacting the Women’s Law Project for more information.
