HARRISBURG – Attorney General Dave Sunday announced a lawsuit against Philadelphia-based photographer Christina Hernandez Artistry LLC — doing business as Wandering Stardust Collective — for allegedly failing to provide wedding photos and videos to consumers.
The Office of Attorney General’s lawsuit against Wandering Stardust Collective and its owner, Christina Garcia, alleges that the company entered into contracts with consumers to photograph and record their weddings, then failed to provide those photos and videos. The company refused to refund consumers’ deposits.
The lawsuit further alleges that Garcia represented to consumers that she would personally photograph their weddings. However, in certain instances, Garcia allegedly double- or triple-booked herself on consumers’ wedding dates and canceled at the last minute, sending replacement photographers instead.
Losses to consumers are estimated to be at least $75,000.
“A wedding day is one of the most precious and cherished moments in the lives of a couple, and this business darkened those days by neglecting appointments, then refusing to refund customers,” Attorney General Sunday said. “With this lawsuit, we will fight for those clients to be made whole and that this photographer never again conduct business in the Commonwealth.”
Consumers who believe they have been victimized by Wandering Stardust Collective are encouraged to file a complaint with the Office of Attorney General online.
The lawsuit requests the court order the defendants to:
- Pay restitution to all people who have suffered losses as a result of the defendants’ conduct;
- Be permanently banned from owning, operating, managing, or otherwise controlling a business which markets, advertises or sells goods or services in Pennsylvania and/or to consumers residing within Pennsylvania; and
- Pay civil penalties of $1,000 for each violation of the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law and $3,000 for each violation involving a consumer 60 or older.
This lawsuit was filed by Deputy Attorney General Kathleen M. MacFeeters in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
