HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a York County man has been charged with possessing child sexual abuse material while he was on probation for a conviction of similar conduct.
Dillon Harding, 27, of Dover, was recently arrested and charged with 200 felony counts of sexual abuse of children and possession of child sexual abuse material, and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
“This defendant took deliberate steps to avoid court supervision and again access child sexual abuse material,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I commend the investigators involved in this case for proactively finding a repeat offender who continues to abuse and exploit children.”
An agent from the Office of Attorney General Child Predator Section identified a computer that downloaded a torrent file containing child sexual abuse material images and videos. The computer’s IP address belonged to Harding.
Further investigation revealed that Harding was already serving a three-year probation sentence for a 2023 York County conviction of sexual abuse of children and possession of child sexual abuse material. As part of Harding’s probation conditions, he may have no contact with minors and only monitored internet access.
A search of Harding’s residence uncovered a Steam Deck gaming device and an additional cell phone that he used to bypass the court-ordered monitoring software.
This case is being prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Janie Swinehart. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
