HARRISBURG — Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced a new legal action today against a Cumberland County used-car dealer who has repeatedly violated automotive and consumer laws. The motion for contempt, filed in Cumberland County Court, says New Kingstown Auto, Mechanicsburg, and its sole owner and salesman, Harry D. Laughman, have continued their long history of non-compliance with Pennsylvania dealership laws and should be shut down.
HARRISBURG – Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced that his office has filed a lawsuit against Gillece Services,Thomas Gillece (owner of Gillece), James F. Hackwelder (a former service manager for Gillece), and Joseph A. Nikoula (a field supervisor for Gillece) for allegedly misleading Pennsylvania consumers into paying for unnecessary home improvement work, including the unnecessary replacement of sewer pipes. The office seeks to return lost money to Pennsylvania consumers, get civil penalties, and ban Gillece from the plumbing industry.
HARRISBURG― Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced state charges against 20 inmates and accomplices in three state prisons in central and eastern Pennsylvania. These arrests are linked to at least two existing rings, or organized groups of inmates and outside accomplices who conspired to provide false information on COVID-19 unemployment benefit applications.
