The charges are the culmination of a six-month investigation with the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force into the distribution of heroin, marijuana and prescription drugs throughout Westmoreland County.

Over the course of the investigation agents made a series of undercover purchases and controlled buys across Westmoreland County. According to agents, the most prevalent drugs purchased throughout the investigation were heroin and prescription narcotics, including Xanax, oxycodone and methadone.

Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane said information gathered from street-level sweeps, including sources of supply, is used to target mid- to upper-level drug dealers by the Bureau of Narcotics Investigation.

The Office of Attorney General has established a tip line (1-800-442-8006) through which citizens can anonymously report any drug-related activity in the community.

Attorney General Kane thanked the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety for its assistance with the investigation.

The cases will be prosecuted by Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck's office.
