Attorney General's Office announces state prison sentence for Clarion County man arrested in child pornography investigation
HARRISBURG - Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced that a Clarion County man was sentenced to serve 50-100 months in state prison along with 60 months of probation for possessing child pornography.
The defendant, Shane Niederriter, 26, 2194 Nickleville Road, Knox, Clarion County was arrested in February 2013 after agents learned he used social media to pose as a modeling scout to solicit naked pictures of children. A search of Niederriter's computer following his arrest revealed at least 25 photos and videos of minors engaged in sexually graphic activity.
Niederriter entered a guilty plea on 25 counts of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility. He was sentenced by President Judge James Arner and required to begin serving his sentence immediately.
Attorney General Kane thanked the Knox Borough Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police - Clarion for their assistance with the investigation.
