Former Apollo Borough Police Chief sentenced on charges he stole and sold police gun
HARRISBURG - Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced that the former Police Chief of Apollo Borough, Armstrong County, was sentenced to nine months to 27 months in the Armstrong County Prison. The sentence follows a guilty plea he entered on May 3, 2012 to criminal charges related to the theft and sale of police guns and equipment.
Kane said that Paul Breznican Jr., 53, 406 ½ N. Pennsylvania Ave., Apollo was sentenced before Armstrong County Court of Common Pleas Judge James Panchik. Breznican began serving his sentence immediately.
Breznican was arrested in July 2012 on charges he sold a firearm purchased with federal grant money and pocketed the cash.
The Commonwealth's case was handled by Senior Deputy Attorney General William Caye II of the Attorney General's Criminal Prosecution Section.
