Former Chester County Magisterial District Judge pleads guilty
HARRISBURG - A former Magisterial District Judge from Downingtown, Chester County pled guilty yesterday to charges that she tampered with records and obstructed justice.

Rita Arnold, 56, 1307 Lone Eagle Road, Downingtown, Pennsylvania, entered the guilty plea before Senior Judge John L. Braxton. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.

Arnold was arrested in April 2013 and charged with one count of tampering with records or identification and one count of obstruction administration of law or other governmental function.

Arnold concealed a citation issued to her son for 2 ½ months before docketing the citation in the court system. When the delay and other irregularities with the citation were discovered, Arnold intentionally misled the County's President Judge and investigators as to what occurred with the citation.
