Join Attorney General Tom Corbett and hundreds of schools from across Pennsylvania for the official launch of Operation Safe Surf on October 11, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. Attorney General Corbett's presentation will be broadcast live that morning from Harrisburg High School in the city of Harrisburg as he talks with middle and high school students about the importance of staying safe online. He will explain to kids the tricks predators use to lure children online and how kids can best protect themselves while still enjoying use of the Internet. The program, which is intended for middle school and high students, should last for 40-45 minutes. This will be a great program both for individual viewing in a classroom or during an assembly.

Schools can view the live broadcast through three different options listed below. While the official live broadcast begins at 9:30 a.m., a test link for the satellite broadcast and Web cast will go live at 9:00 a.m. PCN will carry the broadcast live at 9:30 a.m.

1) Live Web Cast
To view the live Web cast, you need to have Windows Media Player. If you do not have this software, it can be downloaded for free at www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/en/download/. To access the Web cast, follow these links:

2) Live Satellite Downlink

Many schools are set-up to receive satellite transmissions (distance learning). We have made the satellite link available through two different options: C-Band and KU-Band. Many schools have C-Band access, so please check with your technical people to see if you can watch the broadcast through that means.
