AG Kane joins Celebrate & Share to celebrate accomplishments of women

HARRISBURG ? Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today joined with the leaders of Celebrate & Share, which works to raise funds for organizations that focus on the needs of women and children, at their annual breakfast in Pittsburgh.

The event has been held annually since the organization was created in 2002 and celebrates one of the greatest achievements of women: the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits any United States citizen from being denied the right to vote based on gender.

"Women have come a long way in the 94 years since gaining the right to vote," Attorney General Kane said. "We have always stood strong in the face of discrimination, which in its various forms has never withstood the test of time."

Attorney General Kane was joined at the breakfast by Celebrate & Share co-founders, Bonnie DiCarlo and JoAnn Forrester. In 2002, the women created Celebrate & Share to raise funds for women and children in need and to highlight the achievements of women in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Celebrate & Share has raised more than $160,000 through events, such as the Women of Achievement Awards, which has recognized more than 150 women.
