HARRISBURG - Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane and Columbia County District Attorney Thomas Leipold today announced the seizure of a methamphetamine lab in Stillwater, Columbia County.

"Not only is meth an extremely dangerous drug, meth labs are a threat to public safety," said Attorney General Kane. "When our agents entered this lab, there were two containers bubbling with lithium and several other toxic ingredients that could have exploded if not handled properly. I applaud the chemists who helped dismantle this lab so that evidence could be collected to prosecute these individuals to the fullest extent of the law."

Attorney General Kane said that on Thursday, Oct. 24, agents from the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and Special Operations Group executed a search warrant on a home located at 130 Karns Road, Stillwater.

As law enforcement entered the property, they discovered an active meth lab, with two pots of meth cooking. The Office of Attorney General's Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Program (CLEP) lab team, with the assistance of Pennsylvania State Police Chemists, dismantled the lab and collected the evidence.

Agents seized various meth manufacturing materials, one assault rifle, one handgun and $1,136 in cash.

Attorney General Kane thanked the Pennsylvania State Police forensic scientists, the Pennsylvania State Police Bloomsburg Patrol Unit, the Berwick Police Department and the investigators from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for their assistance with the investigation.
