Five Pittsburgh men arrested on child pornography charges
 
HARRISBURG - Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced that the Attorney General's Child Predator Section arrested five Pittsburgh men in the past two weeks as part of ongoing efforts to target the online sharing, downloading and distribution of child pornography.
 
Kane identified the defendants as:

  • Andrew Kuhns, 26, 1552 Barr Ave., Pittsburgh; 
  • George O'Toole, 18, 723 Wymore St., Pittsburgh;
  • Charles A. Hatfield, 70, 5872 Darlington Road, Pittsburgh; 
  • Nicholas Alexander Fratangelo, 23, 415 Kambach St., Pittsburgh; and 
  • Randy Dare Glota, 23, 12 Mullooly St., Pittsburgh.

Andrew KuhnsKuhns
Andrew Kuhns was arrested on Monday, July 22 and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, four counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of illegal use of a communications facility. Agents from the Attorney General's Computer Forensic Unit located thousands of illegal media files at his residence.

Additionally, the Crafton Police Department, who assisted in the investigation, filed charges against Kuhns' mother for possession of marijuana.

According to investigators, she was smoking a rolled marijuana cigarette as agents entered the residence where multiple stashes were found.

Kuhns is being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing in Crafton on August 1.

 

 

 

 

 

George O'TooleO'Toole
George O'Toole was arrested on Monday, July 22 and charged with four counts of distribution of child pornography, three counts of possession of child pornography and one count of illegal use of a communications facility.

In addition, O'Toole was charged with possession of marijuana by the Pittsburgh Police Department, who assisted in the investigation. During the search, police located six-foot marijuana plants and paraphernalia in plain sight within the residence.

O'Toole is being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing in Pittsburgh on August 5.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charles A. HatfieldHatfield
Charles A. Hatfield was arrested on Thursday, July 11 and charged with 13 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of illegal use of a communications facility. Agents from the Attorney General's Computer Forensic Unit located more than 1,000 illegal media files on five different devices at Hatfield's residence.

Hatfield is being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing in City Court on July 25.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nicholas Alexander FratangeloFratangelo
Nicholas Alexander Fratangelo was arrested on Thursday, July 10 and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of illegal use of a communications facility.

Fratangelo is being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing in City Court on July 24.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Randy Dare GlotaGlota
Randy Dare Glota was arrested on Thursday, July 10 and charged with six counts of possession of child pornography, three counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of illegal use of a communications facility. 

Glota is being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing in City Court on August 29.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All five defendants will be prosecuted in Allegheny County by Deputy Attorney General Anthony Marmo of the Attorney General's Child Predator Section.

Kane thanked the Pittsburgh Police Department, the Crafton Police Department and the detectives at the Indiana County District Attorney's Office for their assistance with the investigation.
