Protecting Pennsylvania Against Crime
As Pennsylvania's top law enforcement officer, the Attorney General works to attack drug trafficking, Internet predators, gun violence, public corruption and other criminal activity; making our state a safer place to live, work and raise a family.
The Office of Attorney General has a wide range of responsibilities, and our public safety work is conducted in many different ways.
The Criminal Law Division is the largest single section within the office, handling a variety of investigations and prosecutions, including drug enforcement, Internet child predators, organized crime, corruption, insurance fraud, tax crimes, environmental crimes, plus a host of cases referred by local District Attorneys.
Crime prevention is also a major emphasis for the office, working to help people avoid becoming victims of crime. The office reaches out to families across Pennsylvania with a series of educational programs:
