Price Gouging Settlements
The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General entered into an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance (AVC) with the several businesses after the Office received tips alleging price gouging. Under the Price Gouging Act, a price increase of more than 20 percent during a declared state of emergency is considered price gouging.
Consumers who purchased products listed below from the following businesses* at the specified address may be eligible for restitution if they paid more than they should have. In order to be considered for restitution, consumers should file a consumer complaint form and attach a copy of their receipt showing they purchased the product within the “Date of Eligibility” window. The Deadline to file the complaint must also be met.
* The OAG settled with suppliers to some of these businesses, and as a result of those settlements, relief is available to consumers. Not all of these businesses listed here have been found to have engaged in price gouging.
